Set of F1-Class Calibration Weights (1970s)
The weights of nominal masses 1 kg, 2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg, made of stainless steel and shaped as cylinders with a handle, belong to accuracy class F1. Such weights have very small permissible mass deviations — less than a tenth of a gram — and are used when high accuracy is required, though not at the highest laboratory level.
This set served as a control set of weights for testing and verifying scales and weights of lower accuracy classes (F2, M1, and M2). It was used at the State Office for Metrology (DZM) during the second half of the 20th century, when it represented standard equipment for ensuring traceability in mass measurement.
